I’m not sure it was a mere coincidence that the bleakest year of my life was further blackened by the bleakest job I’ve ever had. In fact, I’m pretty sure God was playing one of His ultra-hilarious jokes on me.
It was so funny I thought I’d die—but not from laughing: by jumping into the Monongahela River in the middle of winter.

Now think about Room 101 in the novel 1984.
Do you have both those images in your mind? Good.
Now imagine Room 101, but it’s full of Dementors. Then you’ll have a good idea of what working in a call center is like.
